In previous posts, I wrote about transportation using mobile cranes and cableways (logging skids).
This time, it's the monorail.
It's that thing farmers use to haul things like mandarin oranges, lol.

However, the maximum incline for all manufacturers is around 45 degrees.
For that reason, depending on the shape and topography of the mountains, we often have to take a considerable detour to reach the site.

Generally speaking, you can think of it this way: the load capacity varies depending on the number of rails—whether it’s a single-axle, double-axle, or triple-axle configuration.

Transportation by monorail tends to look easier than by cable car, but it’s actually quite challenging.
There are a lot of single-axle rails in particular, but since the width of the rear bogie is about 600 mm, the machine sticks out a bit lol.
This is true for monorail companies of any manufacturer—they only clear enough space for the monorail to pass through, so
It often happens that, based on the assumption that as long as the monorail can pass through—even if there are obstructing trees—it’s fine, the drilling machine can’t get through.
If you're bringing a drilling rig up a mountain with a lot of standing trees, as long as there's at least about 1.2 meters of width, you should be able to manage to some extent.

When transporting long pieces of scaffolding material, it’s easier to navigate curves if the material is of a certain width, and
It also makes it much easier to work when laying out materials such as hoses for spray application at the base of the rails.

I recommend choosing a wider model, as it provides a broader field of view and reduces the risk of accidents.
Ideally, I’d like the design team to specify that trees be cut down in an area at least twice the width of the monorail’s cargo platform.
That way, it’ll be easier to cut the tree without having to move the obstructing tree first.

Since there are various ways to handle situations on-site depending on the circumstances, I’m not sure which one is the right answer, but
I think the right approach is to use the method that allows for the safest possible construction.
But striking a balance between cost and safety is important, isn't it?
But it's way too expensive, isn't it?
However, even with these specified temporary measures in place, there are many gaps that are difficult to identify during the design phase, so
I get the feeling that the general contractor also has to cover a lot of the costs out of pocket.
I think selecting designated temporary housing is particularly difficult.

There are also machines that climb mountains using wires, but they're way too unusual, lol.
