This time, we’ll be discussing the Clip Spacer®, which we receive many inquiries about.
The Clip Spacer® was originally designed as a spacer for rebar installation.
Even if the holes are drilled with near-perfect accuracy, it’s completely unacceptable if the rebar with the spacers attached ends up looking like it does in the photo above.
So, this is what I came up with to solve that problem.

I've been doing this for decades lol
I hear the same thing is happening in the construction and bridge-building industries, and I get a lot of questions about it.
The request was to move the rebar, which was currently running straight across, to the center.
Apparently, for the seismic retrofitting of the bridge piers, they’re going to expose the foundation, wrap it with rebar again, and pour concrete.
In that case, rebar is placed not only vertically but also horizontally; however, since it doesn’t end up in the center as it stands, the gap is reportedly greater than the rebar diameter.
Apparently, this causes them to struggle because the parts don't end up in the positions specified in the drawings.
It's also important to ensure adequate concrete cover for the rebar!
And there was still some concern that the resin-based adhesive might not spread evenly around the edges.
Apparently, with standard spacers, the result looks like the illustration above, so they place something under the rebar near the hole opening to angle it.
It seems that Clip Spacer® is used because it resolves this issue. (According to design consultants and contractors)
Especially for thicker-diameter anchors or reinforcing bars, Clip Spacer® might be the better choice since it won’t be crushed under load.
This time, I filmed a video of the D51 with the part installed.
I was giggling so much that I got embarrassed, so I made sure to add some background music! lol
It was really heavy, so it was a real struggle!
