Cement Slurry Pressure Test (Part 4, Revisited) | Adjusting a Semi-Automatic Welding Machine

Hello, everyone.

This is Enta.

For the past few days, I've been making a mesh strainer to use after mixing cement slurry in a mixer and before pouring it into the hopper.

I'm using 3 mm angle iron, but it's difficult to adjust the semi-automatic welder.

If the heat is too strong, it melts; if it's too weak, the weld won't hold properly...

It looks like it's going to take quite a while before the beads start rolling smoothly.

This looks like a professional job, but I guess to get it to this level...

We use welding rods that are hard and resistant to friction, so they won't melt unless we set the voltage a bit higher.

I suppose the difficulty level has gone up in that area as well.

The road to mastering welding is a long one.


But that's beside the point.

Packer Experiment 8It has a shape that appears to be layered radially out from the core of the packer.

I've never seen grout harden into a shape like this before.

So this is the shape it takes when pressure is applied!

Nobody knows that, do they? lol

However, to create this shape,It must be cured while maintaining pressure.

 

This is a non-pressurized core.

Packer Experiment 9You can see that the material is slowly building up in layers, like tree rings, and hardening.

As expected, there's quite a bit of air in it.

This is the normal hardening process of cement slurry, isn't it?

Now it's just a matter of strength. That will make everything clear.

(There's way too little data, lol)

Test specimens for the unconfined test were taken from the same grout.

The pressure is a bit erratic at the core, but I don't think it's a problem.

So, if the pressure were too high...

And just like that, concentrated high-strength cement slurry is born! lol
