The Cement Slurry Won't Stop (Part 2) | Plugging the Hole with a Packer

Hello, everyone.

This is Enta.

What should you do if the grout won't set?

Based on the previous diagram, all we need to do is plug holes 1 and 2.

(Actually, I don't know where the holes, cracks, etc., are. It would be easier to tell if I stuck a fiber optic scope in there.)

We'll seal it with a packer.

It looks something like this.

Grout Injection Is the BasicsPerform continuously without interruptionAs a result, if there are many voids, the level will not rise no matter how much you inject.

In my case, I once put 5 cubic meters into a single bottle, but it didn't rise at all. (I was hoping it would, lol.)

In the end, we ended up using a packer that time, too. (If we’d used it sooner, we wouldn’t have wasted time, materials, or labor.)

As you can see, using a packer allows you to handle mostWe can address any grout issues.

(Since it cannot be secured in most of the fixed sections, please make a design change in such cases; this is effective for gaps in the free-length and fixed-length sections.)

A while back, there was a time when we couldn't secure the anchorage in a limestone cave, so we made a design change to extend the anchor length and used packers to secure it starting from the section beyond the limestone cave part lol.

So, basically, using a packer lets you do things like this.

Although the packer method is costly, when you consider the risk of the grout not rising, the construction schedule, labor costs, and the cost of the grout material,

Making this determination allows you to proceed with the grouting work efficiently.

So, next time, I'm going to check out the Packer!
