The reality is that bonuses seem like something that has almost nothing to do with low-level subcontractors.

Hello, everyone.

This is Enta.

"Summer Bonus": At 1.26 million yen, the construction industry tops all industries again this year

I saw an article on "The God of Construction."

Bonus

What do you all think?

While many of the people reading this blog work for major companies, there are also quite a few subcontractors.

So,

The person from the major company said, “Uh-huh, uh-huh ♥”

The subcontractor was like, "Whaaaat? :;"

Right?

Certain general contractors are indeed seeing their sales skyrocket.

Contract amounts have skyrocketed due to increases in market unit prices, labor unit costs, and overhead rates.

The fact is that our salaries are rising steadily because we are directly reaping the benefits.

Increase in Unit Price

And what about us subcontractors?

Yes.

No changes.

Although there has been a slight increase in unit prices, as long as we’re working as a second-tier subcontractor, I don’t think the unit prices have changed that much.

That's because the budget unit prices for primary contractors haven't risen that much.

I've written about this before, but I think the daily rate per person is probably around 25,000.

Depending on the situation, maybe 20,000?

When I was the director, it was 18,000 yen.

Unless the unit price here goes up, the unit price will definitely not go up.

And the unit price here is definitely not going up, lol.

So, when preparing the construction budget, they manipulate the number of days or add other construction items to make it appear as if the cost has gone up.

This is just a matter of technique, lol.

An Era Where Subcontractors Determine Construction Costs

So, as I wrote before, in cases like this where the amounts are so disproportionate, should we report it?

Maybe that's how it came about.

Starting in fiscal year 2027, a system will be implemented to report construction unit prices that are significantly lower than average!!

What about Enta!?

People often say that, but since we basically operate on an annual salary system, we pay a lump-sum amount that includes everything. (Japanese employees only)

This is up to each company's discretion, but we do it this way because employees' pay increases when they work overtime or on holidays.

Especially since many wives tend to want stability.

It's unstable when it goes up and down with bonuses.

This, too, depends on each company's policy.

It would be nice if the rates were high enough for subcontractors to make a decent profit, but in reality, that’s not the case.

What's more, due to various factors this year, bankruptcies are occurring one after another in the construction industry.

I hope we can create a society where both major companies and subcontractors can make a solid profit.

See you later.
