I messed up lol

In my blog post the other day, I meant to write that we shouldn't let our guard down—as a reminder to myself—but... lol

I let my guard down lol

Understanding the target values makes construction even more enjoyable.

 

Well, I finished drilling two holes with plenty of time to spare this morning, and I was just about to finish the third one at 3:00 p.m.

I actually found myself thinking, "If this keeps up, will we hit the 4-bottle mark?" lol

That was a lapse in judgment.

We had drilled the hole 1.5 meters longer (the length of one casing).

So, since the anchor would get stuck once it was in place, I attached a guide wire (1.5 m) and inserted it.

 

But then, the line came loose, so I couldn't pull up the anchor...

I decided that the only option was to pull the anchor out, tighten the wire securely, and reinsert it, so

We packed the tip of the casing with excavated soil, raised the anchor, and then removed it with a crane.

Thoroughly clean the anchor body, then reinsert the anchor.

 

Once I’d pushed it all the way in and retrieved the outer casing, that strand had come loose again...

Since the surface to be excavated consisted of soil mixed with pebbles, we dug down about 50 cm with a Kensco...

We attached a wire to the PC steel strand and raised the anchor to the specified height of approximately 1.3 meters.

 

So, according to the schedule for that day, if we don't get the machine set up, the tow truck won't come tomorrow, and work will come to a halt.

It was definitely one of those days where I absolutely had to unload the machine, lol.

Well, I managed to get it off by 6:00 p.m.

I managed to pull it off somehow, but honestly, there were way more problems than I’m letting on here... It was a total nightmare.

Lessons Learned from This Experience

Always keep track of the number of casings; don't leave it up to the person on the job.

Put any casings you don't need in one place.

 

What I mentioned above is just common sense. I let my guard down there.

"I guess it'll be okay."

That was exactly where I let my guard down.

 

Starting today, I’ll stay alert and keep an eye on my surroundings as I work!
