The Power of Laughter and Tears | It’s Up to You to Set the Tone on Set

Hello, everyone.

This is Enta.

Come to think of it, I realized recently that I haven't had a good laugh in a while.

Don't you find that as you get older, the chances to laugh and cry really do drop off?

The Effects of Laughter

They say that laughing heartily boosts your immune system and, as a result, can help you recover from illness.

Just looking at this picture makes you grin, doesn't it? lol

The Effects of Crying

On the contrary, it’s said that crying can relieve stress and have a therapeutic effect.

This picture makes me grin, too, lol.

So both of them help relieve physical discomfort, right?

Let's cry and laugh our hearts out! lol

But that's beside the point.

It's contagious.

No matter where you go on a job site, there's always someone who looks grumpy, right? lol

For example, the branch manager at XX General Contractor, the section chief of the XX Section at the XX Municipal Office, or an XX craftsman.

When you see that, doesn't it make you feel kind of annoyed or irritated, too?

It’s common to hear people say that in a confrontational tone, and you just think, “Huh?” right?

Do you know why that is?

Actually, irritation and frustration are contagious!

It's contagious!

On the other hand, what happens when you smile?

What would you think if someone were working with a smile on their face?

It just makes you smile, doesn't it? lol

Your smiling face is contagious!!

Improving the atmosphere on site

This is actually really simple.

Apparently, you can easily set the mood just by being friendly and smiling.

The reason is that I recently attended a lecture on psychological counseling by Dr. Hiromichi Fujino, and I thought I’d share it with all of you.

So, what I learned wasIt takes effort to make smiling a habit. That was the explanation.

After all, we're human, so we have our ups and downs.

You just have to smile and deal with it without letting it show. That takes quite a bit of effort, lol.

It's hard to laugh while trying to hold back your frustration, lol.

That said,A person's anger lasts only about 6 seconds. So, when you find yourself getting frustrated and thinking, “Ugh~~~,” just count to six!

Let's try to take an extra 6 seconds to regain our composure.

Techniques for Smiling

1. Smile.

All you have to do is lift the corners of your mouth.

Just this alone will make you look like you're smiling to the other person.

And apparently, when you laugh, your parasympathetic nervous system recognizes it, which boosts your immune system.

2. Greet people with a smile.

Instead of mumbling a quiet greeting, open your mouth wide when you greet someone to make a good impression.

Be careful not to speak too loudly, as it can come across as intimidating.

3. The Best Time to Greet Someone with a Smile

OAO is the foundation!

O = Good morning.

A = Thank you.

O = Thank you for your hard work.

At this moment, greet them with a smile and a big smile.

To all foremen who feel the atmosphere on the job site is poor!

You might be the cause!!

See you later.
