Generally speaking, if the initial estimated bedrock isn't found, there are quite a few cases where the ground bearing capacity cannot be guaranteed.

At that time, at least, the bearing capacity of the soil was not an issue.

But it’s also common for weathering to progress over time, to the point where the bearing capacity becomes a serious problem.

I feel that sites where only the load-bearing plates are installed tend to have the backs of the plates weathered and worn away. (Personal opinion)

 

And situations like this are really tricky—what should I do??

That's what tends to happen, isn't it?

I've written about countermeasures on this blog before.

Fill the sandbags with low-strength mortar, pack it down, and secure them with rebar.

Or, in other words, you'd be securing the surrounding area with mortar.

There is no other way to deal with this.

 

That means, rather than worrying about uncertain ground bearing capacity as a current countermeasure, we should install the zabuton frames first.

So that strategy is also a viable option.

Zabuton Frame, Spray-Coated, Half

To be honest, as a contractor, I really hate zabuton frames because they're such a hassle, but,

When you think about the time and effort it takes to change it later, it’s way better to have the zabuton frame from the start lol

 

And the area around the zabuton frame will definitely be finished with sprayed mortar!

It's better not to try to plant greenery if you don't know what you're doing.

That's because the vegetation in that gap on the pressure plate keeps washing away.

Because it's narrow, the current is faster, so it's being eroded more and more.

It's a vicious cycle, isn't it?

In that case, it’s actually enough to just apply sprayed mortar around the zabuton frame.

 

And if possible, I’d recommend going with a slightly larger zabuton frame lol (the price difference based on size is negligible anyway).

There may be a slight misalignment due to the direction of the load.

And best of all, you can earn ground resistance in the Zabuton slot!

 

I haven't been able to take the basic exam yet, lol, but that's all I have to say about ground bearing capacity for now.
