How do you assess the finish when the interior of the formwork is sprayed first?

So, I thought I'd give writing a try this time.

How do you measure the as-built dimensions of a formwork that has already been installed?

It depends on how you look at it, but,

I'll use "Legal Framework 300" as an example.

Since 300 mm is the absolute value, the height and width from the natural ground surface are always 300 mm.

If the specification is 300, this is the absolute value.

In areas with steep terrain, there may be places where the elevation exceeds 300 mm.

Simply put, if the design thickness of the mortar within the frame is t = 100 mm, that would be 300 mm minus 100 mm.

If a distance of 200 mm or less can be measured from the surface of the frame, that means the distance is 100 mm or more.

Depending on the director's approach, there are countless ways to measure this.

There are no strict rules regarding measurement methods; as long as the government agency understands and accepts them, there’s no problem at all.

Don't just think from a subjective perspective—focus on how to complete the construction work quickly and neatly.

To that end, I believe that further refining construction management is also part of the manager’s job.

If there are parts that won't be visible, I might consider taking a photo beforehand.

There are plenty of ways to do it.

Depending on the director, some choose to measure the spray thickness within the frame by drilling a hole at the edge where it meets the formwork.

This is a useful feature in its own right. It allows you to measure both the height of the frame and the thickness of the spray coating inside the frame at the same time.

If you were the general contractor, it means that as long as you draft the construction plan that way, there won't be any problems.

I used to do that, and I hardly ever got called out on it.
