Installation of a Retaining Wall with Ground Anchors (Part 1)
This is a continuation of the previous post.
I think I mentioned last time that you should pay attention to the angle of the anchor and the angle of the frame!
The next issue that arises at that angle is the rebar.

The white lines within the legal framework represent the vertical reinforcing bars.
The red circles indicate the horizontal rebar.
The green line is perpendicular to the legal framework.
I'm sure you understand that there are no particular issues in the case of ground anchor work or rebar insertion work, provided the design is perpendicular to the slope.
However, there are also many designs that incorporate a significant angle.
It depends on the relationship between the assumed slip surface and the location of the anchoring soil, and I understand that the goal is to choose the most cost-effective location possible, but,
They're designed in a standard way, but there are quite a few designs that make you wonder, "What am I supposed to do with this?"
That's physically impossible, right?
That's what I'd say lol

In the case of this ground anchor method shown in the figure above ⤴, there’s a chance that drilling might not be possible unless the angle relative to the retaining wall is reduced even further!?
The reason is that it can't be removed from the box.

Normally, you'd remove the box like this, right?

It looks easy to draw on a blueprint—it’s just a single line—but in reality, it’s impossible due to factors like the diameter and angle of the rebar.
If there are only four rebar bars, you can still manage by simply shifting them a bit, but,
In ground anchor construction, if the amount of rebar is insufficient due to stress considerations, the number of hoop bars or main bars is increased.
When you add them up, that makes eight... it's absolute hell, lol.

For example, you could arrange it like this, lol.
If it comes down to it, I guess I'll just have to bend the rebar as much as I can...
To be honest, as long as the rebar is installed, we can ensure we have the required amount, so it’s not really a problem, but...
In the past, there were also instances where it would extend beyond the legal boundaries (not at an intersection).
Well, I guess if the government and the consultants say it's okay, then anything goes, but it just feels a little off to me.
Especially lately, they’ve been reluctant to make changes unless they’re paid, so sometimes it’s hard to get things done, and
It would be great if we’d had a solid design plan from the start, though...
Apparently, even government agencies and consulting firms can get caught up in accounting audits for projects they weren’t familiar with due to their inexperience. (I saw this on CrossTech lol)
Of course, it’s important for us to get our message across clearly, but these are becoming increasingly difficult times, aren’t they?
