This is Enta.

The other day, I took an early morning flight to Kagoshima.

Chubu International Airport is totally empty this morning lol

After all, it's still in the 5 o'clock hour.

 

And next, we're heading to Kagoshima.

It takes about an hour and a half to get from Chubu International Airport to Kagoshima.

The weather is gloomy just as expected, but since I'm a rain magnet, I'm totally fine with it ^^

 

From there, I headed to the Royal Host inside the airport, the one I always go to.

I usually eat breakfast here, but I hardly ever order the Java curry lol

Royho's Java Curry is sooo delicious!!

Plus, it's a huge portion (I've already eaten way too much this morning, lol).

 

I know, I know—you're probably thinking, "Just get to Kagoshima already!"—but actually, I have a layover!

From there, we headed even further south!

Yes! We're here.

This is Amami Oshima!!

It takes just under an hour to get from Kagoshima Airport to Amami Airport.

Of course, it's raining pretty hard—it's hilarious lol

 

I know some of you might be thinking, “Lucky you—you get to travel,” but this is work!!

Someone will pick me up at the airport, and then we'll head straight to lunch.

I'm sure people from Kagoshima are familiar with this—chicken rice (keihan)!

 

It's that dish where the chicken tastes absolutely delicious when you pour that broth over it.

Scoop rice into a bowl, then top it with the condiments on the right and the chopped chicken.

This is really delicious, isn't it?

I actually wanted to have two bowls, but the large portion of Java curry was...

I could only manage one bowl, but it had been a while since I’d had chicken rice, and it was absolutely delicious.

If you go to Amami, you absolutely have to try the chicken rice! ^^

I'll eat some chicken rice, and then head straight to the job site.

This time, my job involves reviewing the design and planning the actual construction on-site.

There were so many discrepancies between the design and the actual site conditions that it was simply impossible to proceed with construction.

My job this time is to figure out a way to make this project feasible.

 

In my case, since I have a pretty good understanding of both the designers’ and the builders’ intentions, I think I’m the perfect person for that kind of coordination, lol.

What’s more, I’ve been invited to various places recently to speak on these topics, and I’m truly grateful for that.

We'll figure out a general plan for the day, and have a light dinner together that night! (It was supposed to be a light meal, but it turned into a huge party...)

 

On the second day, we started early in the morning at the site to check the cross-sections and positions, and to discuss changes to materials and scaffolding plans.

I can't go into detail yet, but I plan to conduct an experiment on something that will make you say, "This is it!" and I'd like to share the results when the time comes.

I’ll check what I need to do when I get back to the office, and then head to Amami Airport in the evening.

And there's a restaurant (Yamagataya Shokudo Airport Branch) right next to the Royal Host inside the airport that serves Kurobuta pork.

I always order the black pork fillet cutlet here, but they didn't have it this time.

So, here's the black pork cutlet curry!!!

The pork cutlet is even better than this curry!!!

Somehow this has turned into a food review blog, but,

This time,At workI'm on Amami Oshima! (This is important, so...)

 

I didn't used to write about things like this very often, but,

I figured that the fact that we’re getting more and more requests like this probably means there are a lot of people who are struggling.

We've also been getting more and more questions and inquiries about the blog lately.

However, it’s also true that it’s difficult to come up with a tailored solution without actually visiting the site and reviewing the design calculations and drawings.

I wrote this in the hope that it might be of some help to anyone who’s struggling, lol (A food review? lol)

 

In my case, I'm not part of a major company or anything like that—I'm just a contractor.

As a result, we don’t have any proprietary construction methods, which gives us the advantage of being able to select the most appropriate method without any bias.

Large companies tend to steer projects toward their own construction methods.

In that case, it might be difficult to strike a balance when considering the general contractor’s profit, so,

I feel like it’s important to make sure everyone can make a profit using conventional methods.

Well, there are some cases where construction simply can't be done without using a major contractor's construction method, so,

Sometimes I might actually go with that, lol.

By the way, I was surprised to find out that the site representative I met this time went to the same elementary and middle schools as I did when I was a kid!

I was totally surprised to find out we live in the same area lol

It made me think, “Wow, what a coincidence.”
