We have recently renewed our construction business license.
I've been working on it since around October, and I finally finished registering at the end of February lol
The reason for this is the existence of the sales office.
Actually, I think I mentioned this before, but we opened a sales office in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, last year.
Since we were told that we would need to renew our permit to open a branch office, we opted for a ministerial permit.
Now I can go out and do business with my head held high lol
Since I think there are some people who don’t fully understand construction business licenses, I’ve summarized the information below.
🔨 Basics of Construction Business Licenses
A "construction business license" is required to operate a construction business.
This permit can be broadly categorized into the following types:"Who Gives It to You?" と "What kind of construction work is it?" It can be categorized based on these two perspectives.
🏛 Who gives it to you:Ministerial Approval vs. Governor's Approval

🧾 How to Read a Permit Number (Example)
In our case
This means:
- Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism: Ministerial Approval (i.e., has business offices in multiple prefectures)
- 特: Specified Construction Business
- General: General Construction
- 6: Year of License (Renewal) in Reiwa 6
- No. 29472: Individual numbers (nationwide)
In other words, there are a total of 4 types ！
