The other day, I went to Tokyo and met someone who might possibly visit our home next year.
I know you're probably thinking, "It's the 28th, the end of the year," but it doesn't really affect me lol
Even if it's New Year's Day, I'll probably still go.
The reason is—do you know just how severe the labor shortage is in the construction industry?
With the Koizumi administration slashing our construction budgets left and right, and the media constantly labeling us as the “3K” jobs—hard, dirty, and dangerous—we’re now facing a severe labor shortage!
Amid a situation where it is difficult to bring in foreign workers—with the technical intern program even being called a form of slavery—
"They might join our team! I want to meet anyone who might be a good fit, just in case!"
The "2025 Problem" in the construction industry is just two full years away!!
Currently, about 34% of workers in the construction industry are 55 or older, while about 11% are 29 or younger, reflecting an aging workforce...
Approximately 800,000 people aged 60 or older are expected to retire over the next 10 years.
By 2025—just two years from now—the workforce in the construction industry willA shortage of about 900,000 people!

At this point, there's no way I can handle my current workload!
No matter how hard the general contractor works on construction DX or ICT, it’s meaningless if there are no subcontractors to carry it out.
As I mentioned in my recent post complaining about the wastefulness of construction DX, the only thing that’s increasing is the workload for subcontractors.
Some people think that eventually there won't be any people left, and machines will be able to do all the work on their own!
Sometimes people say stuff like that—it's so silly lol
I wonder how many workers they think are working around the ICT machines? lol
They're using rakes and hoes to clear away the soil and debris from the small areas, aren't they?
If we could come up with something revolutionary to replace the formwork used by slope construction companies, that would be great in its own right, but,
Since I'm human, I generally start by thinking about things I can make by hand.
Since that's when mechanization will begin, it's still quite a ways off, I suppose...
If we can create robots that move exactly like humans in about 300 years, then ICT will be complete, lol.
