The Anchorhead Situation in a Few Years

Hello, everyone.

This is Enta.

I'm doing unloading work right under the construction site where work is currently underway.

We're unloading the anchor, which is under tension.

I haven't checked since then to see if it's become tense again.

So, what I want to point out is the rust on the head.

These are anchors that were installed several years ago.

 

Even though it has a head cap, look at all this rust.

This means that simply putting rust-preventive oil inside the head cap isn't enough.

It's gotta be the slimy stuff, right? lol

Anchor Head Greasing

If you apply this much paint, it’s sure to be rust-resistant.

By the way, there’s actually an even stranger phenomenon in the photo of the rusty head.

Can you find it? lol (Not like it's a quiz or anything, lol)

      Comments on Other Answers

      The head itself is not broken.
      It's no problem if the rubber bands snap due to wear and tear over time.
      I don't usually apply epoxy, so if it's already been done, that's a plus.

      I suspect that this anchor was made using a wedge that had cracked after failing to hold the tension.
      Did you hit it with something like a hammer?
      Or they may simply be a little too tense.
      Is that why the wedge broke?
      I don't think there's any problem with the performance, but it does make me wonder ^^
