I arrived in Dubai just before 6 a.m.
In the end, I didn't get much sleep lol
I think I slept for about three hours.
From here, I'll have a layover of about five hours before my next flight.
What's so amazing is—well, that's what you'd expect from a wealthy country!
It's already gleaming gold!
That sleazy vibe—I didn't even take a picture; the first thing that freaked me out was the coffee at McDonald's.
McDonald's coffee—need I say more?
How much do you think this costs?
In Japan, a tall size costs 290 yen.
Can you believe this cup of coffee costs about 800 yen?!
About 2.75 times
I feel like I’ve swallowed something terrible, but I put up with it anyway...
Because I wanted to eat a croissant that looked delicious!
Wow, that looks delicious!!
I thought, "I'll buy one!" but when I checked the price,
1,050 yen!!!!
Honestly, when you squeeze it, it feels so tiny—I just can't justify paying that much for it...
If you order a coffee and a croissant set here, it’ll cost over 2,000 yen!!!
I figured, "This is just ridiculous," but I put up with it and went to McDonald's—and the coffee was 800 yen, lol.
Even though I’m here, I figure, “Croissants are the same no matter where you eat them, right?!” so,
I'll wait until I get back to Japan—that's plenty of time lol
It's that sense of defeat that Japanese people feel.
Japan, a Poor Country!
I thought that was just way too harsh, no matter how you look at it...
By the way, Starbucks in Dubai was about twice as expensive as in Japan.
Everything is so expensive that I think Dubai is a tough place to live.
Especially since I live with a penny-pinching mindset like mine, I think I’d just put up with it. (I might lose some weight, lol.)
If I’d had a little more time, I would have liked to stop in Dubai for a bit and check out that place I can see in the distance!

Before we knew it, it was time to board the flight to Nairobi.
From here on, I'll be traveling in economy class.
It takes about 5 hours to get to Nairobi.
The couple next to me is really annoying—the girl’s leg keeps bumping into me (on purpose).
On top of that, she was sitting with her feet up on the seat, still wearing her shoes, and hugging her knees—like she was sitting cross-legged...
It’s a common experience for foreigners, but as a Japanese person, I found myself getting a little annoyed while noticing the differences in national character lol
