Something dangerous happened the other day—it’s a story that gave me a real scare when I was all alone.

Our Vietnamese employee just walks right past BH with a straight face.

(BH = backhoe = excavator)

At that time, I thought, “The latest BH models are compact and have a tight turning radius!”

It's super easy to use and runs really smoothly! I've been thinking that BH has really come a long way lately.

When the BH is facing forward, it’s about the same width as the caterpillar track, so it doesn’t bother me, but when it turns, it sticks out slightly beyond the track.

It sticks out by about 20 cm.

Therefore, if the BH itself is placed about 50 cm away from the wall, it can help prevent accidents in the event of an emergency.

Ideally, it’s better not to have a driveway, but on small lots, there are plenty of cases where it’s unavoidable.

Be mindful of the location of the BH's bucket, and workers passing by should also exercise extreme caution; if possible, they should make eye contact with the operator or give a signal.

This time, we had to use BH in an extremely confined space where there was no other option.

If we don't have it, we can't do the work.

So, when passing by, I made sure to stop BH or keep an eye on the camera until I had passed.

I instructed them that it is important to make sure the Vietnamese staff fully understand the danger and to use hand signals, eye contact, and gestures to indicate that someone is there, so that the operations team is aware.

I wasn't able to teach them here how to throw a stone to signal the surgeon to stop during a major BH procedure, but I'd like to teach them that somewhere.

We prioritize safety over work efficiency.

I want to make sure they learn safety practices they can use even after they return to Vietnam.
