Last time, I wrote about the pressure faced by Nepali men.
What exactly is the pressure? First of all, it’s the pressure to make money as a man.
And then, getting married.
Well, I suppose up to this point, it’s actually pretty normal.
But in reality, it’s actually a pretty gruesome story, and I found myself wondering, “Do modern Japanese people even have that kind of spirit!?”
Well, I'll go out and earn some money as a worker!
For the average Japanese person these days, it's for their own sake, isn't it?
But Nepalese people do it for their families.
My family's happiness comes first.
There isn't really a concept of "even at the cost of sacrificing myself"; it's just taken for granted that family comes first...
It kind of feels like Japan from a long, long time ago, doesn't it?
Well, I suppose part of it is that people are just that poor, but since Japanese culture has already shifted toward valuing the individual,
This is something that even young people today—and even people of our generation—find hard to understand.
That's why they go abroad to work.
Marriage Among Nepalese People
I happened to pass by a hotel where a Nepalese wedding was being held.
Apparently, this wedding is on a very lavish scale and is set to last a week.
Then, we had the wedding with all our relatives staying at the hotel.
I hear everyone celebrates together, but apparently the men are the ones who pay for it, and at this level, it’s said to cost around 10 million...
That’s on a level that would be absolutely unthinkable in Japan today.
Even for a wedding among ordinary Nepalese people, it seems to last about three days. (Several million?)
And above all, what do you call the engagement gifts? The bride's family's...Desired amountApparently, it is necessary to send gold (bullion).
Even if there’s some degree of reading between the lines, the amount they’re asking for is crazy, lol.
So guys just save up money.
The harsh reality that you can't even get married without money, coupled with pressure from my family...
And then, the pressure from her...
Aren't Japanese men at their limit by now?
You might even decide that it's not worth going to such lengths to get married!!?
Why go to such lengths?
Nepalese technical interns have no choice but to work hard and save money.
It's all for the family.
That's all there is to it.
It's at a level where today's Japanese people can no longer win.
It is young people like these who are now supporting Japan's infrastructure.
Not for myself, but for my family!
Working for someone else.
So that my family can live a good life.
This strength is amazing!
That was also the case in Japan in the past.
For our families, for Japan!
Japan rose to the top of the world in just about 30 years after the war!
This is absolutely unbelievable. (It’s said to be a miracle around the world.)
Japan today is like “someone who crawled back up from rock bottom, saw the world’s most breathtaking view, but got too cocky, lost their footing, and is now recovering from their injuries while looking for the next mountain to climb.”
That's kind of how it is, lol
It seems that the people of Nepal are also hoping for this miracle. It’s something the Japanese admire.
If the leader changes, the country will likely experience rapid growth, but in the case of developing countries overseas, that leader...
What It Means to Be Japanese

Seeing me watching that, he asked me with a puzzled look, "Are you Chinese?"
When I said I was Japanese, he gave me a huge smile and shook my hand lol

Nepal and Japan are twins! We're friends!!
Japan is the best!!

Someone told me, “You should play (the game) too!” but I turned them down lol
Japanese people are well-liked all over the world.
People love you wherever you go!
You guys are amazing! Your skills, determination, and character are the best in the world!
No matter which country I go to, people always say that to me!
This is amazing.
The era our forebears built is being overrated.
Our potential should be absolutely incredible.
What are Japanese people like these days?
Are you doing your best?
Is that work style really okay?
Work-style reform is a failure, isn't it? I feel like Japan is just getting worse and worse.
Some workers feel that way, and business owners certainly do even more so...
Work-Life Balance
You know how people talk about "work-life balance," right?
I think it's a good idea to strike a balance.
However, if you prioritize work over your personal life, you should find that the balance evens out a few decades down the road.
If you strike a balance between work and life when you're young, you'll lose that balance as you get older and your body starts to slow down.
If you don't give it your all while you're still able to, when will you?
(The excuses of people who can't do their jobs are all about "work-life balance, aaaaaah..." )
And then there are all the foreign workers coming to Japan right now!
People are always telling me, “I want to work overtime all the time!” and “I want to go on business trips all the time!”

We're steadily moving Japanese profits overseas.
I also think there's really nothing we can do about it.
After all, there aren't any Japanese people here!!!
However, I think there’s more we can do with that.
We want to keep that firmly in mind as we go about our work, don't we?
We're still the world's favorites, aren't we?!?
There must be more we can do.
Let's keep pushing forward without slacking off!!
