If we don’t keep learning to use new technologies, we won’t be able to make construction DX a reality!

It's scary, isn't it, how we public construction workers get our pay deducted all at once without any say in the matter? lol

Let's do our best to wrap this up, lol


But that's beside the point.

Lately, I've been designing temporary anchors a lot, and surfaces with corners are a real pain, you know?

For example, something like this.

Well, in situations like this, you’d normally adjust the pouring angle, but you can’t install it without figuring out where the interference will occur.

This is where it becomes an incredibly difficult decision.

 

In the past, we used to draw front and side views and compare them to verify the design.

 

Nowadays, since we can check things using 3D CAD, it’s easy enough to figure out.

Interference Detection

The figure above was created in 3D CAD using the interference detection feature.

The area marked with a red circle is showing color.

This is where the interference occurs.

When drawing anchors, I make them slightly thicker to err on the side of caution (to avoid interference), so that’s how I do it.

 

Just by looking at this, you can immediately identify where interference occurs and accurately determine the length of the area where interference is likely to occur.

Interference Distance

We measure the shortest distance at the point where the lines intersect horizontally.

Well, if they're 1.3 meters apart, it's not a problem, but sometimes the gap is as small as 1 centimeter.

I'm not interfering, but it's kind of scary, isn't it? lol

This is because drilling can sometimes cause the hole to become misaligned.

 

In that case, adjust the angle one at a time.

When changing the angle, aim for the shallowest direction possible—this reduces the tensile load—so move it upward.

(Be careful not to cross the boundary line)

 

Construction DX is useful in its own way and has helped streamline work.

Still, we’ve got a long way to go when it comes to the fundamentals.

It only made things a tiny bit easier, didn't it?

You'd like to have it a little easier, wouldn't you?

That will require more study.

 

I'm studying to learn how to use new technology.

In the future, even more new technologies will come along, and people who can't keep up will just be left behind lol.

I hope that, even as we grow into old men ourselves, we can continue to learn new things and work on new civil engineering projects, such as slope stabilization.

It's a never-ending learning process ^^
