The other day, as a way to escape reality, I was repairing a grout mixer all by myself at the office.
(I've got five quotes, though... lol)
We'll check for cracks in the pulley and unusual noises coming from the bearings, and then disassemble it.
The machines used for grouting get incredibly dirty, and on top of that, grout gets caked onto them...
That's why taking it apart is such a hassle.
Also, since we're not a repair shop, we sometimes forget how to put things back together, so we take photos each time, and
Since I have to take photos to make sure I don't order the wrong parts, this takes a while, too.

The cause of the unusual noise was the bearing, but grout had gotten into it.
The reason is probably that the seal has deteriorated.

It actually used to work with this, lol.
Since there's a part number, I'm pretty sure it's the right one, but I'm still checking to make sure the dimensions match the drawings for that part number as I work.

Since the caked-on, crumbling gasket inside wouldn't come off at all, I used the wire from an air rotary tool to grind it away.
When you think about it this way, you take it apart, check the parts, note the part numbers, verify them against the drawings, and then place the order.
After the parts arrive, verify the parts and part numbers, then proceed with installation and assembly.
I really can't help but think that being a machine repairman is such a tough job.
Our work is the same—it’s a job where we build things up one step at a time.
When I get sick of paperwork, I do things like this to take my mind off it lol
Still, I bet it’s no fun for the employees who have to reassemble machines that were taken apart before they were fully finished… lol
