When installing formwork and the slope is poor (the formwork fits loosely), which do you use for anchor pins: rebar of a different diameter or round bar?
To answer your question, it's round bar.
I, too, used to think that deformed rebar had higher friction.
In fact, at first glance, it’s the rebar with different diameters that has the larger surface area.
But that's not actually the case.
When driving in irregular-shaped rebar, it cuts into the surrounding material as it goes in.

That leaves a gap, doesn't it?
However, since round steel bars push their way in while compacting the surrounding soil, they become difficult to remove.
The area around the round bar is also compressed, making it stiffer. (Theoretically)

Although there are no gaps at all, it offers considerable resistance because the surrounding soil is being pressed into it.
So that means round steel is actually better for anchor pins driven into the intersections of structural frames and the like, right?
If we consider it strictly as an anchor to prevent misalignment until the material is sprayed on, round steel is the type that is least likely to come loose.
It might be worth trying something like that with a little creativity.
Although the design calls for D16, we deliberately use φ16 rebar.
Because it's hard to get out, lol
I'd like to try a pull-out test or something like that sometime, though.
