Simple Yet Not So Simple: Simplified Frame Construction | A Misunderstood Construction Method

Simplified Frame Construction

I'm sure you've heard of the "simplified formwork method," but is it actually profitable? lol

We don't make that much money.

I really wish this construction method would just go away, lol. I've been thinking that for a long time now.

Nowadays, there are many similar construction methods (products) available, so it’s possible to significantly reduce costs even without using the original company’s simplified formwork system.

There is a lot of waste and a lot of loss.

What's more, because the amount of glass being blown (the frame size) is small, the glassblower can't keep up with the frame, making it difficult to make progress.

 

This time, at our site, four nozzle operators were assigned to the lower section.

Well, it seems it went faster than expected—I wonder if the director is satisfied? (Since there was no set deadline.)

Apparently, four people would line up side by side using the simplified formwork method, pouring one course at a time, and pour 18 cubic meters per day.

But even so, it doesn't really stick with you, does it? ... (Though I guess what "surprisingly" means varies from person to person, lol.)

 

I guess if you're going to do the frame, □300 is probably the most balanced choice, both financially and in terms of efficiency.

By the way, the other day, when I was looking at the labor costs for fiscal year H31, I saw that slope work in Aichi Prefecture cost 27,100 yen!

It's gone up quite a bit, hasn't it? Isn't it about time we started passing some of that on to our subcontractors? lol

I had also checked the market unit prices using the cost estimation software, but,

Steel Frame □300×300, 250 m or more but less than 500 m, No Restrictions = 16,610 yen/m (March 12, Heisei 31)

It's gone up quite a bit, hasn't it?

If this is the amount for the general contractor, I think a first-tier subcontractor would generally be paid at least around 15,000 yen per meter, though this varies by region.

So, even as a second-tier subcontractor handling the labor, 10,000 yen per yen seems like a reasonable amount.

It's not like there are that many ingredients, after all.

That said, there are things like the success rate and all sorts of other factors to consider... lol

Collusion

Based on the simplified method, the cost estimate came out to roughly 11,000 yen per square meter (Aichi Agriculture and Forestry), so even on a labor-only basis, it would be around 6,000 yen, wouldn't it?

At this rate, it's bound to be a bad fit, isn't it?

It’s only “simple” in name—it actually takes quite a bit of effort.

I meant to write about the simplified procedure framework, but I ended up writing all about money lol
