Calibration of Spray Water | How to Choose a Water Meter

Hello, everyone.

This is Enta.

Last time, we covered the calibration of the sand meter.

Calibration of Measuring Instruments

This time,That's it.

Water Calibration

Automated Section

First, here's the easiest method.

This involves using water tanks manufactured by various companies.

Tanks equipped with machines or devices that measure a specific volume of water are available for purchase.

Buying it would be the quickest way, but,That's pretty pricey, lol.

Next, we need to purchase a water meter.

These are also available from various manufacturers; they’re designed so that the pump stops once the specified water volume is reached.

The appeal of this is that you can use it anywhere, but,It's really expensive...

However,It makes it easy to measure water volume, and it's incredibly reliable.

Manual Method

Place a blue bucket or similar container (about 30 L) on top of the spray machine’s hopper (where the Belcon is fed in), and insert the submersible pump’s hose into it.
A submersible pump with a timer is required!

Press the submersible pump button (first time)

    ↓

Water comes out. This is done to fill the hose with water.
Please empty the contents of the bucket first.

    ↓

Press the button on the submersible pump (for the second time)

Time how many seconds it takes to pour 20 liters.

Calculate how many liters enter per second.

Check if the 10 L is correct according to the calculation. (3rd time)
(Calculate how many liters fit per second)

Check if the 15 L is as calculated. (4th time)
(Calculate how many liters fit per second)

    ↓

Check for errors.

    ↓

For distances between 10L and 15L, calculate the margin of error in seconds, etc.
(An error of 1 second or less is acceptable.)

Be careful, because the margin of error is greater when the number is small.
Also, make sure water enters the hose the first time you use it.

The reason we take measurements on top of the spray machine is that errors can occur due to the head, so,

Measurements must be taken under conditions that are as close as possible to those under which the material is actually sprayed.

What Is Head?

I think there are other ways as well.

If you don't mind, could you please let me know?

I hope that by sharing information on this slope construction forum, we can work toward better management and better construction, even if only a little.

See you later.

Thank you for your hard work.
