Have you ever heard of a log loader?
Well, I guess that's common in civil engineering?
It's common in the forestry industry, too, isn't it?
It is essentially a piece of machinery used in forestry to haul felled timber from distant locations to a point where it can be loaded onto trucks or other vehicles.
The latest log loaders are remote-controlled and fully automatic! lol
Back in the day—though there are still quite a few of them around today—manual transmission cars had a clutch, and you had to shift gears to operate them.
I've actually dropped a whole pallet of cement (about 40 bags) all at once just once!
For some reason, I can't get the gears to engage, so I've ended up driving from the middle of the slope down, and I'm already in a panic!
Well, luckily no one was around, so that was a relief, but even when I pulled the brake, it wouldn't stop, and the cement was swinging back and forth like a pendulum at the lower stop position lol.
That really sent a chill down my spine!!
Most recent models can be raised and lowered with just the push of a button.
It feels a bit like an automatic, so it's easy to drive.
I think it's great that there are fewer accidents.

Cable cars can also carry people.
That means the machines we usually see on the mountainside, using wire ropes to haul up materials and machinery, are log loaders!
Since it's a log loader, people can't ride on it!

Ski lifts are the most common example of cableways.
Sometimes I build a simple log loader using a small winch.

Please exercise extreme caution when operating a log loader, and whenever possible, have someone experienced handle the lifting of heavy loads.
While you do have the necessary qualifications, please be careful—each log loader has its own quirks!
