Stress Relief! Super Refresh! | How Slope Workers Take Time Off

Hello, everyone.

This is Enta.

I've been traveling from Tokyo to Kanagawa over the past few days, and today I'm in Niigata lol

Last night, I stayed in Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture, where the Enta Group is located.

I'm heading to Niigata first thing this morning lol

I've been walking a fair bit lately, but my back seems to be holding up better than I expected lol.

I guess it’s because I’m out in the field doing surveys and staying active—I’m feeling great.

It really drives home how unhealthy it is to sit in a chair all day while working, doesn't it?

Go to the job site and work hard, getting physical and breaking a sweat.

This is definitely the healthiest option!

If you stick with it for a week, your body will start to get used to it, and you’ll feel that pleasant sense of tiredness in the evening.

It would be awesome if I could just go home, take a shower, and crash right away, but the construction manager has paperwork to deal with from here on out lol

If I don't fight off my drowsiness and prepare the documents to submit to the government office and the general contractor, work on the site will come to a halt.

The supervisor is doing his best to keep the site running as much as possible and to keep things moving efficiently, isn't he?

I really take my hat off to the general contractor's supervisor. (The stress must be absolutely insane, right?)

Back in the day, whenever I got sick of dealing with office paperwork or site paperwork, I’d head out to the site to set up formwork, hold a nozzle, or operate a drilling rig, lol.

I still do it once in a while, but I don't hold the nozzle myself, lol (my shoulders can't take it).

Do you know how you like to recharge?

What do you do to wind down when you’re feeling overwhelmed by work stress or other things?

For example, hobbies like going fishing or riding a motorcycle on the weekend

Like the feeling of letting your thoughts and feelings out—whether you're talking to a friend or a family member.

Working up a sweat through sports or going to the sauna are good examples, aren't they?

I think everyone has their own way of recharging that works best for them.

I'm sure there are some people who say they drink alcohol.

However, if you're going to drink...If you go beyond a moderate amount, it can actually cause stress.lol

Drink in moderation
Types of Alcohol Alcohol Content As needed
Beer 5 degrees One medium bottle (500 ml)
Sake 15 degrees 1 go (180 ml)
Shochu 25 degrees 0.6 go (approx. 110 ml)
Whiskey 43 degrees One double (60 ml)
Wine 14 degrees 1/4 bottle (approx. 520 ml)
Canned chu-hai 5 degrees 1.5 cans (approx. 520 ml)

If you consume more than this, you’re going beyond the “Refresh” level, so apparently you can’t reach “Super Refresh!” or anything like that lol

The key to feeling refreshed is, above all, not to exceed the appropriate amount.

drinking to drown one's sorrows

I mean, there are people who start complaining once they’ve had more than their fair share and get drunk, right?

This is alreadyThe "drinking to drown one's sorrows" categorySince it enters the body, drinking alcohol can be stressful.

I'm already drinking while feeling annoyed, lol

And so, in an attempt to relieve that frustration, I end up doing something annoying like calling someone at night just to talk, lol.

Phone calls from people who’ve been drinking—where you can’t make out what they’re saying—are a real nuisance. Eventually, no one answers their calls anymore, and they gradually become disliked. But since they’re caught in a complete downward spiral, they can’t stop drinking, their stress builds up, and they end up with no one to talk to.

They put on a good face in public, but behind the scenes, when they’re drinking, they just complain nonstop, so there’s no way I can trust them.

It's the epitome of a vicious cycle.

And the stress just won't go away...

If you want to relieve stress and refresh yourself by drinking, it’s best to drink in moderation.

My go-to way to relieve stress has been Monster Hunter since way back—lol (I'm playing Monster Hunter: World now).

I've been a gamer for a long time, so of course I'm playing this, but ever since I turned 40, I've noticed my skills have been slipping.

I just can't react to the monsters' movements, lol.

Even though my brain knows that if I move this way, that attack will come, and that I’ll get hit if I don’t move this way, my fingers are just a split second too slow...

I'm totally hopeless lol

I'm playing Monster Hunter to relieve stress, but I'm actually feeling stressed out by it...

Looks like I'll have to explore other options, lol.

I’d like to make it a habit to relieve the day’s stress on the same day.

Another important thing is to realize that doing this reduces or even eliminates stress.

Apparently, simply being aware of something can make it incredibly effective!

See you later.

These stress-check sites are pretty fun, so you should definitely check them out lol

By the way, I turned out to have high stress tolerance! lol (Just as I expected)
