We are currently overhauling the spray machine.
This gun is the oldest one we have, but it still works great!
In fact, sprayers can last quite a while if you replace the liner regularly.
The shaft is important too, but the liner is definitely the key. (The liner refers to the metal plate on the inside of the furnace.)
As for this inner steel plate, I believe it's usually 9 mm thick.
I find myself thinking, "If this were 6 mm, maybe I could still manage it?"
But if it's something like 2 mm, that's pretty bad!!
You can tell by looking right inside the lid on the side of the pot.

It's the thin sheet of metal about 1 cm away from where the white spray is being applied in this photo.
This is Liner's go-to choice.

I think the thickness on the left is different from the thickness indicated by the right arrow.
Sure enough, the closer you get to the center, the more the liner scrapes.
On my gun, the width was about 4 mm on either side of the center, with the center measuring 2 mm.
Time for a replacement, huh? lol
The worst part was the shaft of the upper kettle.
This is the spot where grease is usually injected, but the gland packing has already hardened with mortar.
There were no air leaks, but the wear was severe.

About 10 mm had been shaved off...
As expected, it didn't work out.
That said, the other shafts are all shot, so it’s going to be a complete overhaul...
The feather elastic was all stretched out, lol. It's better to make sure the feather elastic doesn't stick to the liner.

It's a good idea to inspect and maintain sprayers at least once a year, but ideally, you should do it every six months.
We still have four sprayers left, but if we don't start fixing them one by one, things are going to get really bad!
