I'm from Kagoshima, so I'm used to typhoons.
Basically, even during a storm, it feels like, “Well, I guess this is to be expected.”
I guess I think of it as being about the same as when people in Okinawa go out for drinks during a typhoon, lol.
That said, I definitely don’t go near the irrigation ditches or go look at the rice paddies at times like that!
It's because I think I understand that it's dangerous in that area, too. (Not that there are any rice paddies or anything, lol.)
Please be careful—it’s dangerous to plow ahead based on the “it won’t happen to me” mindset.
But that's beside the point.
Do you clean your spray gun?
This is the AG gun we have at home.
I didn't really plan on using this, but I'm servicing it just in case I can use it somewhere down the line.
So, when people ask what’s difficult about maintaining a Gun, isn’t it usually replacing the liner?
Generally speaking, it’s said that having a gun overhauled by a specialist costs between 700,000 and 1.3 million yen.
Of course, since there are parts involved, it’s kind of unavoidable, but if you know how to do some welding and use an angle grinder, it’s actually pretty easy to do.
Chisel away the inside thoroughly with a jet chisel, and use a grinder to cut through the welded sections of the liner.
Just sending it in for maintenance like that makes it quite a bit cheaper.
By the way, once you get the hang of it, it only takes a day to remove the liner from the Hatsu.
Even a beginner can do it in two to three days.
It depends on how much you use, but that's about right.
If you know even a little bit about welding, you'll be able to replace the liner easily, right?
After removing the liner, you may need to weld to fix areas where too much material was removed or other repairs, and then use an angle grinder to smooth it out again.
Next, spot-weld the liner in place, adjust it to make sure it’s straight, then perform the final weld to finish the job.
It looks so simple when you just write it out like this, lol.
If you're thinking, "Should I just give up already?!"—it might be a good idea to give it a try as a way to practice.
Just do it instead of thinking about it.
