Phase 2 of the private construction project began last week.
A suspended core drill that I haven't used in a while.
And even the Drifter (the hammer part), which you'd think would be pretty durable, actually breaks sometimes, lol.
What’s more, since we rarely have the opportunity, we’re currently conducting the work while providing training (hands-on experience) to employees who have never performed suspended drilling before.
And when something like that happens, other parts break too, lol.
I know I should just laugh it off, but I wasted two days on repairs and other things.
That said, I suppose it was a good thing that I was able to teach the employees how to troubleshoot the cause of problems during repairs.
How to remove, install, and adjust the chain.
Things like how to check the gear assembly and how to install and remove the key, for example.
It's a great opportunity since we don't usually get to see this.
What's more, this is especially true because there are many cases where issues that would normally be resolved at the office rather than on-site are instead handled on-site.
While on-site repairs do carry some risks, once you pinpoint the cause, it’s often surprisingly easy to fix.
Of course, some things are easy if you just replace the assembly.
Which is faster: getting the product delivered or having it repaired?
When I go out to various job sites, I get to gain experience (and learn).
Being mindful of that will help you learn faster!

But once we're done with this job, that suspended core drill is going to need a major overhaul! lol
It's a hassle, but what can you do!!
So, I’m relieved that we were able to sign a direct contract with the manufacturer to ensure a steady supply of parts.
I don't know if it's because of COVID, but work has been piling up, and I'm scared it's about to get absolutely crazy lol.
Even though we're starting to fall behind schedule, the general contractor tells me, "It's great that the design volume has increased," but from my perspective, I'm like, "Huh!? That's bad, isn't it?!"
That's kind of how it is, lol (I'm just saying)
Things are going to get busy starting around this time, so let's all make sure to keep our machinery well-maintained.
It'll be too late once you take it to the site, right? lol
