Reinforcement Bar Lap Lengths and Spacing | Basics of 45D and L/2 Offset

I was in Kagoshima until Monday.

I arrived in Azumino City, Nagano, the other day.

The temperature plummeted from around 18 degrees to -3 degrees in one go...

But that's beside the point.

Do you remember how to lap rebar?

 

That's right! Generally, 35D to 45D

So, 34D for prefectures, cities, and towns? And 40D or so for the national government?

In reality, I don't think 45D would be a problem, but since there's a lot of rebar waste,

So, just make sure to carefully review the construction plan and specifications.

 

Now, I’ll explain the distance between overlaps when reinforcing bars are overlapped.

L/2It's just a slightly shifted version.

For exampleWhen using D10 rebar with a 45D lap length...The overlap length is 450 mm.

The distance by which the overlap with the adjacent rebar is offset is450 mm ÷ 2 = 225 mmThat's how it works.

Next, under the same conditions as above, the offset distance is1.5 × 450 mm = 675 mm

OrIf it's more than that, that's fine.
