Does Working on Slopes Alone Boost Brain Activity!? I Investigated the Link Between Slope Work and Aging!

The other day, I made some parts for a suspended drilling machine.

As I think this, I’m starting to forget even the things I’m sure I wrote myself...

It's seriously crazy, isn't it? (I was actually writing about it, lol)

Aging

How about those of you in your late 40s?

My eyesight's getting worse with presbyopia, and my body's starting to fall apart here and there, lol.

It's pretty scary once you're over 50, isn't it?

Are we really entering the era of living to 100?

 

Wondering, “If I keep aging at this rate, will I end up forgetting everything?” I decided to look up a few things on Chappy!


🧠 ① Changes in Memory

● Areas where the amount decreases

Short-Term Memory (Working Memory):
The ability to "temporarily retain" information—such as numbers, names, and the content of conversations—begins to decline in one’s late 40s.
→ Reason: Decline in the function of neurons in the frontal lobe and hippocampus, and reduced blood flow.

Processing Speed:

The speed at which we understand and process information also slows down year by year.
→ Example: It takes me a while to remember people's names. (This is the base level.)

The wind has picked up → Should we stop or continue spraying?

The rock has gotten harder → Should we change the machine? Or change the bit?

The fine sand particles have changed → Should we adjust the mix slightly?

Think on the go, make decisions based on your feelings, and work up a sweat as you find the “right answer.”

As long as I can keep moving, it’s proof my brain is still firing on all cylinders! Out on the slopes again today—my brain’s really sharp.
Not only is it scientifically proven, but those older craftsmen who work on slopes are really energetic and smart, aren't they!

 

The only problem, though, is that I can't quit my job as a slope engineer (I can't retire) lol

I'll stay a slope contractor until my very last breath!

Working on slopes is the best job ever!! lol
