The other day, I went to check out the site for the first time in a while.
On the way there, I thought, “Oh, I want a mountain!!”
That's what I thought.
Simply put, it's a training facility!
It might sound scary when I put it that way, but it’s not a forced-labor camp or some kind of dangerous place like in *Kaiji*...
It's simply a facility that serves as both a training center and a laboratory for employees.
It wouldn't be surprising for major companies to have their own experimental facilities for their proprietary construction methods, but we contractors don't have any at all, and...
There's absolutely no employee training.
While classroom-based education is important, what really matters to us as a construction company is hands-on experience.
How can we ensure high-quality and precise construction?
Do you have the right mindset?
I think that's important.
Why this formula?
Why use this method for injection?
Why are legal frameworks structured vertically?
We haven't been able to teach the basics—like this and that—because everyone just kind of figures it out on the job.
I don't even know what a craftsman is!
There are many people who don't even know about these traditional craftsmen.
I think it would be good to have a place where people can learn the "why" behind things.
The same goes for construction—we teach classroom theory on-site.
And with the number of foreigners increasing this much, when it comes to the actual classroom setting...
And the chances of foreign engineers taking on supervisory roles are also likely to increase in the future!
I've already worked with several companies, and there are some truly outstanding foreign engineers.
So I'm like, "I really want a mountain" lol (I know, it's a bit of a cop-out)
If it's our own mountain, it's fine to spray it or drill anchor holes, right?
I'll cut it open and install it as a practice run lol
As I mentioned during my visit to the Public Works Research Institute last week, it seems there aren't any places like that, so they can't really do much research.
As I thought to myself, “Places like this are really important for the future of the slope maintenance industry…”
This applies to experiments with drain bolts as well as to experiments with other construction methods.
So, I was wondering if there’s anyone in the Tokai region who’d be willing to give me a mountain…
It doesn't have to be a huge mountain, but I really like places that look like they've been abandoned right along the road, lol.
There are all sorts of things I need to get done right away, but right now my mind is on the mountains...
I'm totally hooked on the charm of the mountains!! (That's not what I meant.)
