| "Chikō Goitsu" refers to the idea that "knowledge" and "action" are one and the same.This is what it means. “Knowledge” and “action” are one and the same, and “knowledge” must always be accompanied by “action.” Therefore, the principle of “the unity of knowledge and action” teaches that merely knowing something as “knowledge” without putting it into practice cannot be called true “knowledge.” |
Let me briefly explain using our construction process as an example.
People who do good work know the joy of doing good work.
Even if a craftsman or supervisor knows what good workmanship is, if they don’t put it into practice, it’s as if they don’t know it at all.
Something only becomes knowledge when you actually do it.
That's the gist of it.
There are craftsmen and supervisors who are always acting like they know everything, saying things like, “I know, I know. Oh, that thing.”
People who say that just don't know any better.
This means that knowledge without action is not really knowledge.
Acting like you know everything on the job can lead to some really crazy situations.
Especially half-baked knowledge.
Quality workmanship as a supervisor. Quality workmanship as a craftsman.
Both are important.
