As you probably know, I’ve actually been tweaking the blog design here and there, and it’s finally finished.
I started making changes all at once in February, but since I couldn't finish them completely, I kept tinkering with them on the sly.
But I've finally come up with a design for the site that I'm happy with.
Well, it's a little flashy, lol.
Since this is an era where women are thriving, maybe it’s meant to reflect that? (Trying to appeal to women? lol)
Well, I like it.
I'd better keep writing articles that live up to the site's design, or I'll be in trouble.
I'll do my best!
But that's beside the point.
We’ve recently changed our work site, so we’ll be adjusting the machine settings to reduce the drilling diameter from 115 to 90.
We use the Cleaning Adapter 135 here. (See the Wako Co., Ltd. website)

This is it.
And by attaching a reducer coupling to this, we're changing the size of the casing.

And I just can't get this coupling off! lol

The other day, even after pounding away at it with a sledgehammer for about 30 minutes, it wouldn't budge at all, so I gave up for the time being and moved on to other tasks.
I was wearing a jacket, but it got so hot that I finally took it off.
In the meantime, we moved a 3-metric-ton drilling rig and a hydraulic unit 120 meters sideways!! lol (That was incredibly hard work.)
And since it just wouldn't loosen, I called a friend to ask.
The "push-and-strike" techniqueSince they said it's okay, I'm going to give the push-and-hit technique a try today.
Just in case the worst happens, I've got a spare swivel set ready!
By the way, the extension rod doesn't seem to be loosening at all, so it looks like I'm in for a real beating...
Jobs that involve changing the setup may seem mundane, but they actually carry a high risk of injury.
The thing is, changing setups is really a hassle.
Everyone hates doing things that are a hassle, so we end up doing them reluctantly. And that’s when we let our guard down, isn’t it?
However, since we can’t proceed with the installation without getting this right, we’ll need to make sure we switch over the setup safely and thoroughly.
Changing setups is the key to a successful installation.

Thanks for your hard work. As my acquaintance mentioned, I also use a casing and a “push-cut” technique with a large hammer to cut through it. Since I have to gradually increase the rotational pressure—otherwise the adapter will break first—I end up putting the person operating the large hammer through a lot of trouble. I understand that the “push-cut” method—where the coupling and the “casing” are kept parallel—makes cutting easier. I wonder if using a wrench causes the drifter to bend, preventing the coupling from being cut parallel, which is why it’s harder to cut...

I finally managed to get it using the "Push-to-Limit" Great Hammer.
I always wonder, "Can I actually get this?" lol
I think a horizontal angle is best to avoid any resistance.
Just some experience, though.
I'm glad I was able to get it sooner than I expected.
But then the casing... starts to get scratched up, lol.
I know, right? I’m thinking about it even while I’m digging—all the way through to cleanup. I know that if I dig this way, I can easily cut off the extender, coupling, and adapter during cleanup and hand everything over to the next crew, but while I’m actually working, my mind gets completely consumed by questions like, “How can I dig faster?” and “How can I shorten the construction schedule?” As Enta-san also mentioned, there’s a lot more to it than meets the eye, isn’t there? Digging holes ^_^
I guess when you really dig into anything, it just gets deeper and deeper, huh? lol
And then I get sucked into the depths lol
I suppose, in reality, a simpler approach would probably be fine.
