This may go without saying for those already working on NEXCO projects, but if you’re planning to work on a NEXCO site in the future, please be sure to keep this in mind.
This is called a net mold.
The size is 10 cm × 20 cm.
Generally, for quality control (compressive strength testing) in sprayed concrete construction, prefectural governments—including the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism—require core sampling as a standard procedure.
However, NEXCO is conducting a compressive strength test by spraying onto this net mold.
And honestly, this method is so easy!!
There are even agents who have obtained approval from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and other agencies to switch to this net mold.
There’s a jig designed to prop up the net mold like this, so I’ll use that to make it.
You then shape it using a spatula or similar tool.
It's easier than removing the core, so that's good, right?
Construction management at NEXCO sites is usually a real hassle, but this tool is incredibly user-friendly!
However, the price of this product is quite high.
The structure is made by pressing standard crimped wire mesh into a circular mold and spot-welding the starting and ending points.
So, at first glance, you might think, “It can’t cost that much, right?” lol, but it’s actually quite pricey.
Well, it's a good product for making things a little easier on the job site, though.
