I'm in the middle of my African travelogue, but I figured you might all be getting bored, so I went on a business trip to Shodoshima in Shikoku.
Two days before leaving for Africa.
Around October of last year, I received a request from “Masaaki from Shikoku.” (From Sogo Kaihatsu Co., Ltd., lol.)

Since we had to catch a boat that day, we arrived in Ehime the day before!
You can actually see Ehime Castle right in front of Ehime Station!!!
I'm surprised.
And our next destination is Shodoshima, famous for its granite!
They say even the stone walls of Osaka Castle were quarried from here!
On the Island of Rock, there are quarries scattered throughout the island.

The ferry ride from Ehime to Shodoshima takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes.
I was pretty much asleep lol
And by car, too...
There was a reason for this—the sea was actually pretty rough.
Because of that, my car's alarm keeps going off, lol.
I really wanted to relax on the ship, but I had no choice but to stay in my car both on the way there and on the way back...
And actually, I had left early just to go for a short run on Shodoshima, but then—suddenly—I pulled a muscle in my calf!!?
Why on earth did I come here!?
Just as I was thinking that... "Oh... I had to work..."
So, reluctantly, off to the job site lol (Get to work!)
It's a high-energy environment.

Non-destructive testing of cast-in anchors at a site briefing session held by Sogo Kaihatsu Co., Ltd.
At this site, we are making full use of ICT—such as capturing 3D data via drone and conducting point cloud measurements—and
A project to explain that to the government office.
It was a request for non-destructive testing, which we often do at Enta.
On top of that, the day I was called in was during a cold snap with strong winds—it was freezing cold!!!!
What a day...
As expected, the folks from the Engineering Department at Sogo Kaihatsu Co., Ltd. were handing out hand warmers lol

It was really cold—even the city hall staff were jumping up and down because it was so cold lol.

Obviously, there’s no way we could use drone equipment worth over 7 million yen in such strong winds, and
We’ll have you review it using the pre-prepared 3D footage.
And then, I performed non-destructive testing on the installed anchors!

Once these anchors are installed, there’s no way to check them, so even if the contractor were to cut them, there’s absolutely no way to tell.
I think they're rare these days, but there are still some unscrupulous businesses out there.
Not only is it ideal for eliminating or deterring such contractors, but for sites (construction contractors) that aren’t like that, it also helps improve the general contractor’s quality control.
Also, since this inspection takes place after the incoming material inspection, it serves as a good double-check, doesn't it?
To be honest, it’s rare to find a contractor who goes this far.
Anything but entertainment, lol
Since we can handle it in-house, that means our prime contractor is inevitably doing it, lol.

It's just a quick inspection, but aside from boosting our company's credibility, it ensures that the finished product is flawless, doesn't it?
It also serves as a way to appeal to the government.

And for lunch, I was treated to some Napolitan pasta at a nearby restaurant.
It was so delicious that I want to go back!
