If the Hydraulic Pump Fails, the Hydraulic Machine Is Done for | Maintenance

Hello, everyone.

This is Enta.

Hydraulic Pump

The other day, a hydraulic pump bit the dust at the job site lol

With just two ground anchors left to go... lol

So, we quickly swapped out the machine, and we managed to get the drilling done.

However, the pump was replaced with a new one.

This thing was incredibly heavy, and I had a hard time both removing it and installing the new one.

The pump is the heart of the hydraulic system, so without it, nothing works.

That's why I'm working my butt off to fix it lol

Hydraulic Unit

I was working in a spot that’s usually hard to reach, so my arms are sore today.

And the broken part of the pump isOil Seal

It's this oil seal, lol

I'm actually going to buy a ridiculously expensive pump just for this lol

Well, I guess there's nothing to be done about it.

For now, let's do an overhaul.

Hydraulic Pump

The upper collar is bent and won't come off, so we'll use a hydraulic cylinder to push it out and then make a new collar.

Since the color is accurate to about 1/100, I can easily make it on my lathe.

Once you've made the color, replaced the gasket, and replaced the oil seal, the overhaul is complete.

For now, I’m thinking of just storing it at the office and either selling it at some point or using it if I can, but I wonder if rebuilt hydraulic units actually sell? lol

Hydraulic Pump

If anyone wants one, here you go (for a bargain price) lol

We bought a brand-new one, so...

By the way, due to parts availability, a full overhaul will probably take about two weeks. (That is, if anyone wants one, lol.)

See you later.
