When it comes to winter spray application, mixing with hot water is the best way to prevent freeze damage!

Hello, everyone.

This is Enta.

Do you remember my previous article about hot water mixed with alcohol?

With hot water!

By mixing the cement slurry with hot water, you can increase the temperature of the mixture during placement.

I think it's the best way to improve quality, especially during the winter.

Spray-Applied Formwork

We’ve been installing the window frames for the past few days, but the cold snap has brought consecutive days of sub-zero temperatures.

It's about minus 3 degrees first thing in the morning.

Since this is Aichi Prefecture, after all, prices won’t drop that much, but,

After all, it’s not really good for mortar, and in the worst case...Risk of frost damageThere's plenty of that, too.

Boiler Temperature

Terms and Conditions for This Event

Outside temperature: around 5 degrees

Temperature of the mixing water: 55 degrees ± 3 degrees

*Note: The outdoor temperature shown in the photo is higher because it was taken near the boiler.

Mortar Mixing Temperature

Under the conditions described above, the final mixing temperature is approximately 17 degrees.

At this temperature, the initial curing is incredibly fast for this time of year, which helps prevent frost damage.

We conducted the experiment in several stages.

Outside Temperature Water Temperature Finished kneading temperature
5.5 degrees 56 degrees 16.9 degrees
4.5 degrees 70 degrees 17.0 degrees
4.1 degrees 48 degrees 11.1 degrees

The higher the final temperature, the better; however, if it is too high, it may affect other machinery.

The recommended temperature depends on the outside temperature, but I think around 55 degrees is best.

Also, please be very careful, as the submersible pump may break if it is not a heat-resistant model.

Hot Water for Spraying

It’s just as effective as using antifreeze, and since it doesn’t look suspicious, I highly recommend it.

There are plenty of stories about people freezing to death because of antifreeze, and

The evidence is pretty sketchy (I know a lot, but I can't say anything), so please be careful.

I'm not saying this applies to all products, but the ones used for spray application are a bit sketchy, lol.

It really is frozen antifreeze

If you're aiming to improve quality by spraying at this time of year, hot water is the best option ^^

Let's enjoy winter sake with hot water!

See you later.
