But that's beside the point.
In ground anchor construction, there’s a holding time during the tensioning process, right?

These are the hold times for each load stage.
In our design specifications, the holding time is shortened if there is no displacement.
It says that.
How are the stress test plans you're all working on coming along?
Surprisingly, there are actually people who don't know this and honestly try to hold it for two hours or so, lol.
It's not bad, but if there's no displacement, please shorten it.
This is stated in Note 6 at the bottom of page 104 of the Design and Construction Standards for Ground Anchors.
This is also described in section 3), “Load Holding Time,” on page 190.
Also, keep in mind that this holding time is just a guideline, so it’s perfectly fine to set it to a shorter duration from the start.
If the rock is harder than expected during drilling, you can save time by cutting it in half from the start.
According to the Ground Anchor Association’s guide on how to write technical documents, it states that the decision ultimately rests with the responsible engineer, so,
The point is that as long as you're qualified, that's all that matters.
Please keep in mind that the figures listed in the book are merely examples.
