Last year was so slow, so this year I’m gasping for breath while crying out in happy frustration, but I’ll do my best.
But that's beside the point.
One of our group companies is located in Tokyo, and there’s an older craftsman working there.
That's fine in itself, but there are quite a few people who—let's say—have slightly different values, or rather, haven't kept up with the latest trends in products, and
It seems there are people who say things like, “You don’t need such high-quality tools,” or “That oil won’t work.”
Something I often mention is grease.
Back in the day, molybdenum was the standard choice for machine grease, and there were no other options.
Since there are so many high-performance greases available these days, I don't think it's necessary to go out of your way to use molybdenum grease.
Although this grease is more expensive, it resists degradation and contains no abrasives, so it doesn't wear out.
We use a grease called Idemitsu Kosan's Eponex No. 2 in our machinery.
You can use this for just about anything!
It's a bit pricey, but it's called "Lithium Complex" and is a very high-performance grease.
Idemitsu Kosan Daphne Eponex SR2 Grease, 400 g × 1 tube, Cartridge, Bellows
It's cheaper if you buy it by the case, but it's pretty expensive for a single bottle.
If it's a case, is it about 600 yen per bottle?
The casing uses a product called Japan Grease King Star EP-2, which is an organic molybdenum-based grease,
This is a synthetic form of molybdenum that offers the same performance as molybdenum disulfide but has a longer service life than molybdenum disulfide.
Unlike in the past, there are now so many products to choose from that I think it’s become confusing for older people.
But since explaining that would probably be pointless, just use this for now!
That's kind of how I hand it over, lol
I used to use Wako's Red!
This is also a very high-performance grease, but since I felt it wasn't suitable for our machinery, I switched to Eponex No. 2.
To make your machine last longer, regular, thorough maintenance is key! That's the only way!
If you leave the machine running without shutting it down, it’s bound to malfunction at the next job site and bring operations to a halt, right?
It's just a little maintenance, but greasing is very important!
And that means the grease you use is also important.
I hope we can improve efficiency on-site by using high-quality tools and materials.
