Slope of Drainage Concrete in Formwork Construction | Difference from Drainage Pipes

Hello, everyone.

This is Enta.

The other day, I was doing TIG welding, but I was doing it without wearing a welding mask.

I thought TIG welding would be fine since you just press the switch and go (spot welding), but I ended up getting a massive sunburn lol.

It's stronger than getting sunburned during the day.

Everyone, make sure to wear the proper protective gear when welding!

But that's beside the point.

About Permeable Concrete

You do work with permeable concrete, right?

So, at what angle do you finish the bevel?

Do you follow any specific standards when performing the work?

The history of permeable concrete is actually quite recent.

When I entered this industry 25 years ago, drain pipes were the norm.

Or rather, it seems like this was the only option. (I was in the Kyushu region at the time.)

Then, some time after I moved to the Tokai region, a material called "drainage concrete" appeared on the market.

There were quite a few problems with drain pipes back then.

Water accumulates in the frame, and the vegetation in the areas where water has pooled rots.

Things like a clogged pipe causing the oil to flow more freely, and so on.

As far as I can remember, I think it first appeared a little less than 20 years ago (though I'm not entirely sure).

Some people set the slope to be quite steep.

To get straight to the point,The design drawings are level (horizontal).

There's no need to apply a gradient. That's the point.

Basically, as long as the surface is level, when it comes to rainfall, water will flow toward areas where there is no water.

The base material will absorb some of it, but since water is also coming from the mountain, it will flow outward.

Since government agencies only calculate quantities on a horizontal basis during the design phase, you won’t be paid no matter how much of the construction is done at an angle.

Your money will grow if the slope is flatter than the legal limit. If the slope is too gentle, recalculate the average slope, and

Discussions will result in an increase in the quantity of drainage concrete, which will lead to a higher cost.

But then again, the quantity within the box decreases, so it’s a wash either way.

See you later.
