Materials Used for Box Cutting by Anchor Installers and Rebar Installers
When you're working as an anchor installer or rebar inserter, you often pour concrete at the intersections of formwork, right!?
What material was used for the box insert at that time?
I think they're mostly void pipes, or maybe VU PVC pipes, right?
*"Box cutting" refers to the process of pre-drilling holes in order to install anchors or similar fasteners at a later date.

I fully understand its performance as a box cutter. It’s fine as it is, though...
The use of VP pipes (vinyl chloride pipes) as formwork material reduces workability during subsequent anchor installation and rebar insertion work.
The difference between VU and VP pipes is their wall thickness. Roughly speaking, it’s twice as thick. The strength is also about twice as high.
Why is VP a bad idea?
First of all, most box-out plays usually involve a player jumping out, right?
With VP tubes, if they stick out, they don't break. VU tubes break easily.
When installing pressure plates and other components, the VP pipe must not come into contact with them and cause them to lift up.
If the back of the plate is not securely attached, uneven loading may occur, which could cause the formwork to break.
If the VP pipe is sticking out, it won't break, so you'll need to grind it down with an angle grinder or similar tool.
This is another real hassle. I just can't seem to get the sander to work right, and it's taking forever to cut through it, lol.
It's really tough, isn't it?

Countermeasures
This is because the slope contractors install it so that it protrudes slightly, but,
As much as possibleA little lower than the legal limit is just right....Please just spare me from having to use it just a tiny bit, lol (it's hard to chip away at with Thunder)
Some slope contractors are considerate enough to point out that mortar might get into the formwork openings or that the holes might become hard to see.
But don't worry. As long as it's not hand-drilled, machine drilling is done with tremendous power.
It can drill through mortar with ease. It’s fine to drill through mortar inside a box cutout.
It would be better if they installed it lower.

Design Phase
Please design the cutouts using VU tubes or void tubes.
If it sticks out like that, it won't break.
With VP, it can be really difficult if the angles are even slightly off due to the shape of the die or misalignment during die-cutting.
There may be cases where concrete cannot be poured as designed.
(If the angle is clearly off, you'll have to slowly cut the VP pipe with a hand-cut bit, which is a lot of work.)
As much as possible,Design Using a Void Tube or a VU TubePlease do so.
Void Removal
People say it's hard to remove air pockets from a void tube, but if you make something like this, it comes out easily.



If you insert it and twist the hollow tube, it comes out easily with a "thud."
You can buy them in stores for around 10,000 yen, but if you make them yourself, you can do it for just under 2,000 yen.
If you make it using your company's anchor pins and scrap material, you can build it for practically no cost. (Though you'll need welding rods, gas, and stuff like that, lol.)
If it appears that a VP is included in the design, please be sure to make a design change!
That will make it easier to install.
