Actually, this box was commissioned as a congratulatory gift for a friend of Mr. Wakazono, the president of Wakazono Manufacturing, who is about to start his own welding business!
What's more, this is my first time doing any serious welding!!
Even so, they managed to complete the project within the two-week deadline.
Wakazono Manufacturing handled some of the design work for us.
When you turn the hinge to open the lid, this is what it looks like.
This welding is so sloppy—it really adds some character!!
The lid is warped by about 1 mm (you'll notice it once you attach the hinges lol).
I think it warped from the heat lol (Pros can tell!)
When you create products during a time when you’re still learning, you’ll have a good story to tell once you’ve improved, so experiences like this are incredibly valuable.
The beat isn't even steady, lol (This is his beginner's work! He's actually sharing his beginner's work, lol)
The handle is, well, just okay, lol.
It is designed so that pulling on the cap tire does not apply direct tension.
It'll be fine if you tie it to the shackle with a string, right?
It fits perfectly!
I spent over an hour taking these measurements, drawing up the blueprints, and explaining everything to the fabricator!
The clamps are set up so they can be attached directly to the single-wall pipe.
On site, it is secured to a part of the scaffolding for use.
If there is a problem with the wire line, we plan to use a pulley to change the direction of the wire.
I'll give it a try starting this weekend.
I'm looking forward to seeing how things turn out then.
That said, it’s really just a basic rain protection measure for the winch, so as long as it doesn’t get directly wet, it should be fine.
The total weight is in the low 20 kg range.
There's a certain thrill in ordering your very first piece.
It’s kind of touching to be the first customer of someone who’s about to strike out on their own, lol.
It doesn't matter at all whether you're good or bad at it.
I received that product—which may have been his first success, or perhaps his first failure.
At this stage, I’ll probably feel like I did my best, but in a few years, I’ll probably look back on it and think it’s an embarrassing product.

However, since I made it out of stainless steel this time, the cost of materials is quite high.
I think the price would be about two-thirds of that if it were finished with a metal plating.

Lately, it seems they've been manufacturing everything from electrical components and architectural hardware to mufflers and other parts—ranging from one-off pieces to mass production—and they look incredibly busy.
If you're going to place an order, you should do it as soon as possible, or it might take longer to deliver.
I also think it would be a good idea to ask for advice on other crafts as well.
