It must have been really tough being stuck in traffic all over the place.

Meanwhile, I was working at another venue as the guy running the shooting gallery, serving the kids.
Thanks to that, I'm totally wiped out lol

But that's beside the point.
For this first installment, we’ll look at a classic example: concrete.
After all, even we slope contractors use a lot of concrete and mortar.
It's a standard material in the civil engineering industry, isn't it?
I use it all the time, but concrete is really complex.
I guess the only people who really understand this are concrete technicians at ready-mix plants, right? lol
What should you do if it suddenly starts raining while you're installing the formwork or applying sprayed mortar?
Light rain might be okay, but what if there’s a torrential downpour?
It depends on the season and temperature, but if about an hour has passed since the spray application, it should still be fine, but,
When freshly poured concrete is exposed to rain, the water-cement ratio on its surface increases dramatically.
An increase in the water-to-cement ratio improves workability but reduces strength.
Sprayed mortar and concrete inherently have higher workability, so their standard strength is relatively low.
Not only are the settings already on the low side, but there are parts where they’ll be even lower.
As a result,The difference in strength between that section and the rest of the structure can cause cracks and other issues.
Now, here are some solutions.
Since I'd prefer not to get it wet, I'll cover that area with a sheet.
Lightly chisel away part of the sprayed surface from that day, reapply the lath over it, and spray it again.
Apply a finishing coat over the areas where calcium is visible.
I don't do spray painting on days when it looks like it might rain lol
If there are any mistakes or construction defects, we'll redo the work.
This is the basic principle. In particular, deterioration in concrete products becomes noticeably apparent over time.
