Troubleshooting (Part 2) | Unusual Noise from the Motor of a Two-Stage Grout Mixer

Now that we’ve finally finished cleaning up after the Iwakura Cherry Blossom Festival, we’re back to our regular business, but,

Work's pretty light these days, huh? lol

At this point, it's actually kind of funny, lol.


But that's beside the point.

 

Rotary percussion instruments and other equipment are currently being serviced in the warehouse.

The motor on my two-stage grout mixer has been making a lot of noise for the past few days, so I took it apart.

The mixer's motor operates under some pretty harsh conditions.

So, water gets in, rust forms, or mortar builds up, making it hard for heat to escape, and so on.

My blender was incredibly loud, so I'm having it overhauled.

The problem is loose bearings, but since I'm taking it apart anyway, I'll go ahead and replace the wear-and-tear parts.

Of course, the bearings will be replaced as well.

The bearing itself doesn't look like much, but when you spin it, you can feel a slight rough spot.

Just that alone makes it spin and create a deafening roar lol

We thoroughly remove any rust from the shafts, wash them thoroughly, and reassemble them.

I hardly took any photos—I just took pictures of the specs, lol.

The two-tier mixer is powered by a 2.2-kW motor.

It's a little old, so we don't sell it anymore.

There are plenty of small parts, so it's not a problem.

It's firmly rusted to the main unit, so it's a struggle to remove it.

I'm going to take some photos of the assembly today lol

By the way, you must never use CRC on electrical components. It will cause rust.

While products like Yasurupene are still okay to use, please use a silicone-based spray specifically designed for electrical systems when working on electrical components.
