But that's beside the point.

Construction Technology Fair 2025 in Chubu

I went to the Construction Technology Fair 2025 in Chubu, which was held the other day.

Well, it’s kind of like an annual tradition, but this year, we’re definitely targeting young people directly with our job postings!

It was pretty much like a job fair, lol.

It was a job recruitment fair held in conjunction with a technology fair.

In terms of the actual technology, there's nothing particularly new, and

If I had to pick one, it would be this tape lol

I thought, "This is really nice."

It's easy to understand, isn't it?

I'm sure we'll definitely see items like this—with explicit labels—in Vietnamese, Nepali, and English in the future, lol.

And then, I found this at the equipment management expo going on next door, and I thought, “This is pretty cool.”

It's a gas stove, isn't it?

A portable gas stove that uses the cassette gas canisters sold at home improvement stores and similar retailers.

This is excellent for disaster preparedness.

The best thing about this item is that it's so small and light!

Shin-Fuji Burner Co., Ltd. Online Store

Of course, since I’m looking at things from a field worker’s perspective, I thought, “This is perfect for the field!” lol

Plus, it's perfect for the coming season, isn't it?

You can boil water right on site!

It's nice to bring it in a thermos, but it's also nice to boil it right there on site, isn't it?

It really gets me excited.

There are even models that can be used at high altitudes (in high-altitude areas)!!

This is the best tool ever for slope workers!!?

Well, it might be good for hikers, too ^^

To be honest, the Tech Fair 2025 was really nothing to write home about—there wasn't a single exhibit that made me go, "Wow, what's this?!"

Well, since I attend construction fairs all over the country, I suppose there’s a certain amount of that to be expected, but is this a period of technological stagnation?

Actually, even in our slope stabilization industry, we’re still working within the legal framework...

I'm sure everyone's pretty sick of this by now, right?

Wouldn't you like to try a different kind of legal framework?

Slope Stabilization Work

I'm a 50-year-old guy who's been working on slope stabilization for 30 years now.

I was talking with a major general contractor at this Construction Technology Fair 2025 in Chubu, and we were like, “We’re kind of over this, aren’t we?” lol

For people our age, that time has already come.

There are people higher up than us who have kept doing this exactly as it is, without changing a thing, and,

However, since there’s no construction method as simple as this one, it’s quite difficult to change it.

That's why, no matter how much times change, I keep doing the same thing over and over.

It’ll probably take decades to change this, but even so, I’d still like to do something different, wouldn’t you?

Something from an unknown world.

As I think about things like that, I figure I’ll probably be setting up formwork and driving in anchors again tomorrow, too.

What do you all think about that?

See you later.
