The other day, I showed our employees how to assemble the swivel gaskets.
What I want you to look at here is the amount of grease lol
So soggy.
Actually, there’s a reason for this—especially the front part of the core drill, which is constantly exposed to sand, rocks, and water.
And then there's the most troublesome one of all: cement slurry.
It's a real hassle when cement slurry gets near the bolts and nuts.
Grease is what prevents that from getting in.
Before inserting the bolt into the machine, clean it first. (Use brake cleaner or thinner spray to blow out any debris inside.)
Then, pack the bolt hole full of bellows grease.
As you screw the bolt in, grease will coat the bolt thoroughly, making it difficult for cement slurry or similar substances to get in.
"The bolt is coming loose!"
You might think so, but it doesn't loosen that much.
If it becomes loose, please retighten it during your daily inspection.
More importantly, if sand or cement slurry gets into the female thread, the vibration and friction will cause the threads on both sides to wear down.
Since it wears away over time, even if you insert bolts, they'll end up loose. (Cement and sand act as abrasives.)
You can simply replace the bolt, but if it’s a female thread cut into the machine itself, restoring the thread is extremely difficult.
The threads on the drilling machine are either hardened or made of extremely hard material.
That's why restoring it is very troublesome.
First, fill the hole with a hard material, then re-drill the hole with a drill bit, and finally re-cut the threads with a tap.
To avoid these kinds of hassles, you can prevent them to a large extent by thoroughly applying grease and tightening the bolts.
It may seem like a small thing, but it’s the secret to making your belongings and tools last longer.
However, please be sure to thoroughly check for loose bolts.

While I can't recommend it for places subject to vibration or impact, there is a product that makes it easy to restore screw threads.
I think it can be used on parts other than drilling machines and vibrating machinery. Just for your reference.
