The other day, I went to a company for a meeting about aramid fibers.

Well, it's a meeting to discuss having something made.

To put it simply, it’s famous for being extremely lightweight—with tensile strength about four times that of rebar.

The rod in the photo appears to be made of aramid fiber woven into a rod shape and coated with epoxy.

It looks like a yellow stick, but it's really light.

In terms of hardness, it’s similar to a Kintaro candy, and it makes a high-pitched (clanging) sound.

The sample rod I received is about the size of a φ9 × 200 mm anchor pin, but it weighs less than half as much!

It's a wonderful product.

But there's also the downside that it costs 10 to 20 times as much, lol.

This is also stronger than standard G-FRP! (G stands for glass fiber.)

So, during the meeting, I mentioned the aramid fiber I’d just thought of to the aramid expert.

There are some high-priced aramid fiber products that we use quite often, aren't there?

I used to put this in the grout to prevent it from seeping into the voids.

So, that’s why I brought up the topic of aramid fibers.

So, the aramid fiber experts all said in unison, “Huh? Aramid?? What is this??”

I can't say for sure without seeing the actual thing, but "That's this, and it turns out to be that!"

So, that’s the story—but it’s something I can’t write about here lol

Well, to be honest, I had expected this, but the amount we're spending is actually absurdly high...

So, as for what I plan to do with that aramid fiber... well, I can't write about that either, lol.

I’ve been wanting to make something for a while, and I finally decided it was about time to get started.

The world of textiles is really fascinating, isn't it?

Just by learning a little about an unknown world, you can transform it into all sorts of things in your mind and bring them to life.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but this is way beyond just a single glance.

I think it would be great if we could make slope construction more convenient and improve workability, so I really enjoy working on developments like this.
