This is Enta.

The technical interns were doing the spray coating! lol

It's been two weeks since I started.

From rebar installation to shotcrete application.

I'm guessing the day program wouldn't let us go this far at this pace, right? lol

 

But here's the thing. Think about what their goal is.

Their goal is to come here to make money before they even learn the skills.

I earn money and send it to my parents back home.

Since I took out a loan in my first year, I'll probably have to use my income to pay it back.

However, starting in my second year, I’ll be earning money for my parents—and for myself.

That's why I work especially hard in my first year so that it will pay off in my second year.

 

To make money, you need to learn the job quickly.

Once you learn the job, you'll get a raise sooner.

(I tell them, “Do your best in your first year. If you can get the job done in your second year, I’ll keep promoting you!”)

If they can perform just as well as Japanese employees, I intend to pay them the same salary as Japanese employees.

 

I think that makes me want to work even harder. (Of course, I make sure to give them plenty of time off!)

That’s exactly why I keep giving them challenging tasks. (After thoroughly discussing safety, of course.)

It's actually going surprisingly smoothly, lol.

 

I was watching him the other day, and even though he’d only been playing for about three days, he was already playing while carefully finishing the simple chord progressions!

And while I'm at it, I'm cleaning the inside of the frame and trimming the sides with a spatula, lol.

I just couldn't help but laugh!

I received confirmation from the technical intern.

Just as I thought—it turns out you have to flip the “motivation switch” yourself!

 

To everyone reading this blog: Until now, Japanese people have been a global brand.

However, as the number of Japanese people declines in this way, the foreigners they have raised are becoming the next generation of the brand.

Isn't it the drive and spirit of the Japanese people that we lack today?

The standard of civility in Japan may have improved, but people’s moral standards are steadily declining, aren’t they?

We slope engineers want to create an era where civil engineers can really make their mark, don't we?
