I was talking to someone from a major materials supplier the other day, and I was wondering—how do you actually create innovation?

I hear the company is telling us to come up with something new.

I suppose that "something" is innovation, but,

Something new that wasn't there to begin with lol

In reality, there's no way it could be born.

But the company always wants to try something new.

I wonder if there's a future in that, but I totally understand the desire to create or make something.

I feel the same way.

However, it’s not that easy to come up with, and when you actually try to create one, you’ll find that it’s mostly an evolution of existing products.

It's not really an innovation, is it? lol

Innovation is something that doesn't exist right now, so it's not simply an evolution of something that already exists.

So that means someone who isn't there right now is going to bring it, right?

Innovation occurs when someone from outside the industry—an outsider, so to speak—joins the company.

So, from a conventional perspective, it’s probably hard for innovation to happen within a company.

Especially when there are conservatives around.

Trying something new might actually be harder than you think.
