When it comes to formwork for rebar insertion and ground anchor work, void pipes offer better quality! (For Designers)

At the design stage, which method do you think is best for cutting out openings during rebar insertion or anchor installation?

 

Which material should we choose during the design phase?

I think the designer has probably already decided that based on past experience.

And they probably take that for granted.

But in reality, we're running into some really tough situations on the job, lol.

VP Box Removal

It doesn't happen very often, but cutting out boxes with VP tubing is the worst, lol.

Not only is it expensive, but it’s also shatterproof, so if it appears after the frame installation is complete, it takes a lot of effort to grind it down with an angle grinder.

So, don't just use VP pipe without the box!

 

On the other hand, since VU tubes can be broken by hitting them with a hammer, that’s fine.

However, something is actually happening here that few people know about.

When using a void tube (paper), the void tube is removed during drilling; this is a photo of the interior after removal.

There are so many gaps around the void!

The voids will be removed, and cement slurry will be poured in here, so it will be thoroughly filled!

Therefore, there are no quality issues.

However, if these were VP or VU tubes, the gaps would remain.

 

It's kind of annoying, isn't it?

That's why I recommend using void tubes whenever possible.
