Last week, I took some time out of my work schedule to go to Makuhari Messe and check out the Tool Expo.
It’s been a while since I’ve been to Makuhari, but man, it really is far lol
You really have to give it your all here, or you won't get this.
In addition, there were also gardening and agriculture-related exhibitions being held at the same time.
You really don't get to see what's new unless you go to these kinds of exhibitions regularly.
When you go there, you get a good sense of current trends and new developments.
While trade shows focused solely on the construction industry are certainly good, I’d recommend attending trade shows in other industries as well, if possible.
After all, you can also draw inspiration from other industries.
Those grass-cutting robots you often see at NEXCO interchanges.

After all, safety shoes have gotten super cool!
Puma, Converse, and stuff like that are so cool!
Safety shoes have been undergoing a dramatic evolution for the past few years, haven't they?
You can just wear them as everyday shoes, right?
Plus, since it's made for the field, it's insanely strong!
When I wear these, I really realize how flimsy regular sneakers are lol
Two extremes: matte black hand tools and super flashy power impact wrenches!
Personally, I think matte black looks cool, but it looks like it’ll be impossible to see, lol.
In a place that's a little dark, it might be a bit risky for an older guy.
It's great that the impact wrench's color is on a sticker.
It seems they're trying to set themselves apart from others.
Well, flashy designs tend to catch the eye more easily.
I hope this helps prevent theft at least a little, but I guess thieves don't care, do they?
This is a bag I personally wanted to get, lol.
A fully washable, waterproof bag—inside and out!
This was incredibly light.
It was so light that I couldn't even feel the weight when I attached it to the front of my helmet!
But the downside is the price, lol.
It's insanely expensive lol
That said, it's only about 8,000 yen.
The ones usually sold at home improvement stores cost between 3,000 and 5,000 yen and are either battery-powered or rechargeable, right?
It would be great if we could bridge that gap, though...
This grass-cutting blade is pretty well-known, isn't it?
Since the upper and lower blades rotate in opposite directions, the design prevents the stones from flying off.
The blades used to cut plaster casts and similar items after a fracture have the same shape.
Safer products are great.

This was made in China, but it was well-made.
Overall, more than half of the companies were from China and Taiwan.
There are so few Japanese companies!!
I found myself wondering, “Are Japanese companies already in decline because of the work-style reform?”
It's a shame that companies from our country aren't participating in trade shows like this...
I wonder what will happen?
I'm really worried about that.
We really need to do more to boost the civil engineering industry in Japan!
